Ozone is a gas naturally present in trace amounts in the atmosphere, but having potentially toxic effects for living systems, when these concentrations in the lower layers become too high.

Ozone has many applications in the workplace.

It has unique disinfectant properties. As a gas, it has the ability to penetrate into the smallest nooks and crannies that liquids or radiation do not have.

It is used, for example, for the disinfection of sewage and swimming pool water, the bleaching of textile fibers or paper pulp, the preservation of foodstuffs and the sterilization of medical equipment. Ozone destroys bacteria, viruses, fungi and germs. Its use continues to grow because it allows rapid, inexpensive and environmentally friendly disinfection. It is also used for its odor destroying ability.
